Tim Usher-Jones

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Tim started his insurance career at Chubb Insurance Company of Canada in 2005. He worked his way up through the ranks from Underwriter to Senior Vice President, where he led a team of over 30 employees and managed a profitable book of Specialty Insurance, including D&O, Employment Practice Liability, Fiduciary, Fidelity, Errors and Omissions, Surety, Transactional Risk and Trade Credit. 
 

Peter Horrobin

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Peter started his underwriting career at Chubb Insurance Company of Canada in 2006. He moved to Bermuda in 2012 with Chubb Atlantic Indemnity Limited, becoming the Managing Director overseeing the management liability and excess casualty portfolio. In 2017, he started up Ascot Group’s management and professional lines operation in Bermuda, building a niche portfolio of specialized business.

Michael Densham

President, Banyan Risk Services Ltd (Canada)

Michael began his insurance career at Chubb Insurance Company of Canada in 2004 as an Executive Lines Underwriter. In 2006, he became the Manager of Chubb Specialty Insurance (CSI) in Vancouver. As a Vice President, he drove profitable growth in the Private Company and ChubbPro segments. While also overseeing the operational team. In late 2014, he joined Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where he built the Executive and Professional lines team and portfolio in Canada.

Ben Munro

Chief Underwriting Officer

Ben started his insurance career at Chubb Insurance Company of Canada in 1999. In 2004, Ben moved to Bermuda to join AIG where he successfully led the AIG Cat Excess division’s global Financial Institutions practice through the financial crisis. In 2012, Ben joined Alterra Bermuda Ltd. (later acquired by Markel Corp.) as SVP, overseeing the firm’s Financial Institutions, D&O and Cyber businesses. In 2018, Ben left Bermuda to found and lead Briza, Inc., a software firm focused on enabling digital connections between insurers, distributors and customers, as CEO.

Alan Rodrigues

CEO, Global Casualty

Alan Rodrigues has nearly 40 years’ experience in Excess Casualty, with oversight of billions in Gross Written Premium. Mr. Rodrigues joins Banyan Excess Liability Ltd (BELL) after eight years with Markel, where he served most recently as Executive Underwriting Officer, Casualty. In that role, he led Markel Specialty’s broad Casualty business, including the Bermuda market. Before then, he spent 13 years at AXIS Capital in London, Bermuda, and the United States and 16 years at General Star Management, a General Re company. Mr. Rodrigues started his career as Casualty Underwriter at Safeco Insurance in 1985.

Brian Sheekey

CFO

Brian comes to Banyan with 40+ years of finance leadership within the insurance industry. He brings in-depth knowledge and experience in reporting, capital management, taxation and reinsurance design and placement. He played a significant role in the design and implementation of carrier and managing general underwriter strategies.  He joins from Arden Insurance Services after having spent 20 years at GeoVera Insurance Group.  Prior to GeoVera, he served as CFO at Tower Hill Insurance Group. 

Radhika Tata

Chief Operations Officer, U.S.

Radhika Tata brings more than 25 years of experience in insurance operations, product management, and digital transformation. She has a proven track record of leading enterprise-wide initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, drive business growth, and foster cultural transformation.

Prior to joining Banyan, Radhika held senior leadership roles at Markel Corporation and Alterra, where she successfully built and scaled insurance solutions, implemented modern policy administration systems, and championed inclusive, high-performing teams.

Radhika, will lead Banyan’s operational strategy, driving innovation and execution across the organization to support its continued growth and success.

Beth Carbray

Operations Leader

Beth is a seasoned professional in the insurance industry, boasting an impressive 19 years of experience. She has played a key role in developing and refining underwriting processes across various lines of coverage, ensuring efficient and accurate risk assessment. Beth has also demonstrated her proficiency in technology implementation, successfully spearheading the integration of third-party back-to-office software and support. Known for her unwavering commitment to excellence, Beth consistently delivers the highest standards of product service in the industry, earning a reputation for her exceptional customer satisfaction and attention to detail.

Jamie Powell

Chief Commercial Officer

Jamie Powell has more than 40 years of insurance experience, having previously held a variety of client advocacy and market facing leadership roles at broking intermediaries in Bermuda and the UK. He began his career as a Lloyds broker in 1983 with CT Bowring (Marsh), subsequently working at a number of brokerage firms with an emphasis on creating product and marketing solutions for some of the world’s largest financial and professional services companies. His previous positions have included a board member of Johnson and Higgins Ltd UK, Managing Director of Marsh Inc, Chief Broking Officer for Aon’s Financial Services Group in Bermuda and London, and most recently a Managing Director of Aon Bermuda Ltd.

Mark Peeters

Managing Director, Banyan Risk Ltd., London

Mark Peeters, with over 30 years in professional liability and specialty lines, has held senior broking and underwriting roles in London, New York, and Bermuda. At Aon and Marsh, he managed global D&O, E&O, and EPL placements, rising to Senior Vice President of Marsh’s London FinPro team. In 1998, he joined XL Bermuda, becoming CUO of professional lines by 2007, leading global portfolios and A-side D&O product redevelopment. He joined Argo Re in 2009 and established their professional lines team and in 2011 as CEO of ArgoGlobal SE, he established their European professional liability operations. In 2014, he was instrumental in establishing RSG’s first non-U.S. MGA, StartPoint Executive Risks, securing Lloyd’s capital and driving growth. 

Additionally, Mark served on the boards of both Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers Limited and Ryan Specialty Service Centre Limited.
