Building a Modern Specialty Insurance Platform
Founded in mid-2021 by co-Chief Executive Officers Tim Usher-Jones and Peter Horrobin, Banyan has established its presence in Bermuda, with a vision to lead in underwriting complex specialty risks.
Starting with a focus on Directors & Officers (D&O) Liability, Banyan has since rapidly expanded launching a Canadian Subsidiary early 2022, and later expanding to Excess Liability in 2024, a significant advancement in its offerings alongside the D&O portfolio.
Guided by a data‑driven, tech‑enabled operating model, Banyan has steadily built out key leadership roles to support disciplined, scalable operations across geographies, industries, and product offerings. The company differentiates itself through creative, bespokeunderwriting, exceptional efficiency, and a nimble, partnership‑focused culture that embraces complexity and consistently delivers best‑in‑class service.
